Snow in Southern Cali

I have a ton of pics of lots of different things from the past two months, but today am only going to share a few from our trip to the snow this week. Thanks to Alex's parents being willing to watch Sophia all day, Alex, Alicia, and I were able to get up into the mountains for some snow fun. Alicia was all shock and surprise as the snowflakes started to fall around our car. She had seen snow before, but was too little to remember of comprehend it then. We had a great time tubing and making a snowman...this was a first not only for Alicia, but also for Alex. We had a lunch break in the car with hot chocolate and everything! Alicia had a great time and is convinced that her snowman is really walking around somewhere up in the mountains, just like Frosty.

Has it really been 3 months???

I guess that I have to apologize to everyone for my major absence from blogging...what can I say, we've been a little busy I guess. We went to Vegas, Alex started classes for his MBA, I started CBS and MOPS with the girls, we've had several colds and illnesses, many small home projects, trips to the zoo, I got second in a chili cookoff at church, Alex turned 35!! I'm not going to write too much today, but will try to put on lots of pics.

A cuddly moment with our big girl...we don't get these that often, so we really cherish them. Alex just had his 35th birthday!! Alicia couldn't take her eyes off that chocolate frosting!! Manny thinks that he is just our little lap dog!

We had a blast trick or treating with our little flowers...

Sophia on a recent trip to the zoo
Alicia couldn't get enough of the monkeys, but her second favorite is the deer in the petting corral.
My little troopers...

Carving pumpkins outside...
I think it was the first time that I ever carved pumpkins in a tank top...or outside!

Best friends
Alicia enjoying her cup of dirt at Fridays...she really thought it was dirt, it was hilarious

Alicia petting the baby goats at the pumpkin patch

On the carousel with daddy at Tom's Farm

A very disheveled Sophia past her bedtime
We tried on the rabbit costume, but it was too small, and Sophia was a very cute, but very unwilling rabbit.
At a dodgers game, just daddy, mommy, and Alicia

On our trip to vegas...Alicia's favorite part was the jacuzzi tub....it was too cold for the pool

and everyone loved the buffet
checking out the dinosaurs

posing with the free entertainment
Sophia couldn't care less, but Alicia was terrified of the human statue

Watching the gondola's inside of the Venetian hotel
waiting to see the free acrobats at Circus Circus...and what a show it was!!
and we did make it to the pool, but it wasn't as warm as it looks!!

???

How can I title a blog that should cover sooo much!! Since my last post, Sophia turned six months, and then seven months and we went on a two week trip to Chicago (me and the girls that is) , Alex went camping, we've gotten back to our old routine around here, and I think Manny's grown two inches!
These are a bunch of pictures from our trip to Chicago. Here Alicia is enjoying a sunday that her greatgrandparents gave her. She was a little less than willing to share it with her sneaky great grandma though!! Unfortunately we didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked with my grandparents (and a lot of the other people that we visited on our trip), but Alicia did get to have a wonderful teaparty with her great grandma in the park that she really enjoyed!!
Here is Sophia with her Grandpa Charlie and Grandma Peggy. She loved visiting their new house and watching their dogs. If it is possible I think that Sophia is going to love animals even more than her big sister. I think that Alicia's favorite thing about her grandparents new house was looking for frogs in the pond.

Sophia just couldn't help it, she just had to have a taste of my aunt Sonia's glass...she must have enjoyed it, because she turned to lick the glass every chance she had.
Alicia eating some of Barbara and Richard's flourless chocolate cake. Yummy!!

Sophia changed a lot during our vacation. She got her first tooth right before we left, and her second on the trip. She gained a lot of speed crawling, a lot of awareness of her surroundings, she started eating three solid meals a day, she learned to pull up to standing, sit, and pictured below to pull herself entirely up onto something on her belly. Now if only she could figure out how to get down.

She's just the happiest little thing!!

Her first attempt at learning some ball skills.

Alicia loves being able to walk to the park by Grandma Linda's house. This is a shot of her running through the water at the splash park. We went to the splash park here in Corona today and when I told her we were going, she told me that she wanted to walk there. This was obviously an event that she remembered.

Alicia petting and feeding sheep at Randall Oaks farm. They were actually a little terrifying as the tried to dive out the little hole anytime you got near it with food.
This time she is feeding a deer.

This is Maggie a 700 pound pig that Sophia found just thrilling!! Maggie is in the background...that's her Grandma Linda holding her!!
Great Grandma Carol, Grandma Linda, myself and the girls...four generations!!

My aunt Gail showing Alicia the picture that she had just taken. My Aunt Gail is pretty amazing. She has more nieces and nephews than anyone can count, and she never misses a birthday for any of us or are kids!!! I'd like to see a copy of that calendar!
We were able to spend five wonderful relaxing days in MI with Charlie, Lindsey, Hannah, Megan and Kate. Alicia loved it. She loves her Aunt Lindsey (who is the person that I go to for all of my mom questions), loves her uncle Charlie who made time to make her feel extra special at night while she stayed up late on California time...even after he had worked a full day, played soccer, gotten ice cream, and put the girls to bed, he still made time to play with Alicia for a little bit!! She loves her cousins...here she is with Kate, though they look the same size, there is about a year between them.
Sophia enjoyed our beach day, but couldn't help but take a little nap in the sand.

We went to the Critter Barn where all the girls got to milk a goat...here they are lined up on benches with uncle Charlie while they wait for the unlucky goat to come in.
Alicia and Kate holding hands while they walk towards the next animals...
a hands on experience with baby ducks...

so that's how you turn a stroller for two into a stroller for four!! I knew Aunt Lindsey was a genious!
Sophia really enjoyed having her Uncle Charlie carry her in the Kelti
Again, Aunt Lindsey is sooo smart!!! A potty in the van!! Here is Alicia making the most of it while we sit in terrible traffic after the fireworks!
Megan on the deck waiting and waiting for the fireworks!!
Really these pictures don't do our trip justice. We made so many good memories and visited so many friends and family that I don't even have pictures of. We loved every minute of our trip and we love everyone that we were able to see...
