Sophia is 4 months!!

Sophia turned four months last week, but her doctor pushed back all appts due to the swine flu, so we just went in for her four month check up today. She is at about the 60th percentile for weight coming in at 14pounds and 9ounces, and 90th for height...I forget what the height was exactly, but she wants to be tall like her cousin Kate. Alicia was always much smaller, closer to the 20th percentile. To give you an idea, Sophia is wearing the clothes that Alicia wore at 9 months. The doctor says that she looks perfect...her belly button hernia has been disappearing, she has excellent head control, she's happy as can be, and after almost two months her thrush cleared up last week.
Manny went to the doctor this week too, for an ear infection. This was interesting only because they had him on the scale and he is a whopping 88 lbs...let me remind you that he is only 7 1/2 months old!!
Today has been a little rough, at the moment we are pretending to be camping. Our water is shut off, because we disconnected the hot water heater, before we realized that Home Depot stops renting their trucks out at 7:30, so we had no way to get a new one here tonight, so we are without any water. Apparently times are tough for our next door neighbor as well...they have resorted to growing their own corn in their back yard!
Below are some random pictures from the last couple of weeks.
This is a shot of the little people at the zoo when we went last month. Overall, the show was pretty disappointing and we got scorched in the sun, but we had a good time together.
This is Sophia and I watching the little people show.
Alex is just relaxing with his son and daughter...is that strange?

Alicia loves her baby sister, but has a little trouble supporting her all by herself.

Alicia, Sophia and I went to Home Depot to pick up some ground cover over the weekend. Alex was putting in a few extra work hours. I had to wear Sophia in a front carrier and let Alicia ride on the flat cart. She looked like such a little cutie in the middle of all the flowers, and we were quite a site, me with the two of them and this massive cart of plants.

Alicia has a renewed interest in baby toys and insists on sharing everything that Sophia plays with.

Who knew that the toy pack and play could fit a real child?

She's all smiles most of the time!

Alicia loves to get all dressed up and drive around the house.

Can you believe it...a new post

We've been doing well since my last post. Sorry that it has been sooooo long!! Little Sophia is really not so little these days!! The woman that leads itty-bitty time at the library took one look at her and commented that she's almost as big as Alicia!! Sophia turned 4 months today and was celebrating by learning to roll over front to back and is quite proud of herself. She is the sweetest little baby I've ever seen and loves to laugh and coo and watch people with her big blue eyes. Her hair isn't growing or changing color as fast as Alicia's did, so she might keep her brown hair. Alicia has been sleeping in her twin size bed for a while now, and doing great!! We went through a couple weeks of nightmares and "scawy shadows" but that all subsided with the introduction of a special new light that she can hold in her bed, and shadow puppets! We are starting to pick up the potty training again...and today she even pooped on the big potty all by herself! Alex has been really busy with work ever since we had Sophia...what a coincidence!! But being busy is a good thing in sales, right?! We've made a lot more home improvements including more front and back landscaping and painting our master suite, I've also been trying to add more pictures and things on the walls to make it feel more homey...and slowly it really is all coming together. This month we celebrate one year in our house as well, it has come together faster than expected. We thought that it would be two or three years before we could really play in the backyard, but we are out there playing in it every day.
Alicia loves to help Alex clean the car...inside and out!
Manny and Katsumoto have come to a mutual understanding...it's like a 3-foot rule.
the two sweetest girls I know, playing together on the floor.

You really have to see the hair in person to understand...it isn't from the wind!

Alicia loves her new umbrella from her great-grandpa and great grandma

A day at the beach

Alicia on her favorite seat...

who knew that our dog would double as a pony!! We're lucky he's so big, a smaller dog wouldn't have survived!!

Alicia's licking the cookie spatula and Sophia is just hanging out where the action is!

Alicia taught Sophia all about the exersaucer...this was Sophia's first attempt.

That's it for now, I hope you enjoyed the pictures and still check our blog once in a while!!
