Wow, the month is almost gone and I haven't blogged yet! Well, we are back from Chicago, the wedding is over...and now we are just waiting for pictures. Alex has been hard at work after a week off, and I have been catching up on laundry and housework that was a little behind after our trip. It has been extremely hot here, so it seems like everything I do is in slow motion. Alicia has been a little cranky because of the heat, and our days have been stopped to take cool baths and go to the store, just to get out of the house and into some AC. Alicia has made a number of new accomplishments since our return...they include eating a variety of new foods with increasingly chunky textures and feeding herself treats, climbing up the entire flight of stairs all by herself (of course I was right behind and ready to catch her, but at just eight and a half months she seems ready and willing to face the world without me!) She also seems to be ready to explore the big girl tub, but for convenience sake I am still using her little one.
While we were in Chicago Alicia and I had a very busy week of preparation for the wedding before Alex arrived. Then when he got there we went out for the rehearsal dinner while Alicia stayed home. Then I stayed up all night listening to the storm and imagining how it was going to ruin the big day. However, everything passed and the wedding was a success, except that we were sweating buckets in the heat!! We had a lot of fun getting to see family and friends.
Then, Alex and I were off for a couple of days to the Herrington Inn in Geneva! It was really nice and we had a great time relaxing and walking around the little town, going out to eat and through all the trinket shops. Alicia was kept busy playing with Grandma Linda, or maybe Grandma Linda was kept busy playing with Alicia!! Alex and I joined Wes downtown for a Cubs game before resuming care of Alicia and heading home. It was a lot of fun, some good quality time with my brother that I don't get to see very often, and Alex enjoyed getting to see Wrigley.
I have just a few pics, but I'll have to post them later, Alex and I are about to drop Alicia off with her Abuelos (grandparents) so that we can go out for a little date night!

What a neat way to share pictures and stay in touch with long distance family members and freinds. These pictures are so cute! Your little angel is growing up fast! I can remember it a little. They become independant so soon.
Keeep the date night thing happening...that is so smart of you two. We didn't do it regularly enough, but we do now!! Our kids are all grown so it's alot easier.
I'm glad you liked the pictures. I wish we had taken a few more. The wedding ceremony was beautiful and the reception was alot of fun. The food was really good too!
Take care Carrie and thanks for sharing you blog with us!
